The Training Band is set up as typical Brass Band (see the set up on the  main band pages) and if you play a brass instrument, you’re in! There is no age restriction and no ability restriction (though absolute beginners will be steered towards Mini Brass on Mondays). The Training Band does what it says on the tin – it trains its members to play accurately and musically, challenging your individual learning journey at the same time as making a really great noise together.

There’s a lively atmosphere at Training Band! It’s great fun and with a membership of over 50 (!) and rising, Di coordinates a really impressive sound at the helm. The Training Band currently fulfils about half a dozen engagements through the year and they look the part in their uniform polo shirts. Training Band operates during school term times.

There are a couple of opportunities a year to rehearse with the main band – it’s a fab chance to play amongst some really experienced players and to see and hear what you’re aiming for in the future. The Training Band tuck shop is open at the end of rehearsals and for the adults, the “INIT2WINIT” termly draw – see a band member or       www.biltonsilver.co.uk for details on this.
